Safe Use of ATM's

  • Always be alert when preparing to withdraw money from an ATM.
  • Try to use an ATM in a well-lighted area and one that has a locked door that can only be accessed by inserting a bankcard into an automated door opener.
  • Never open the door for a stranger while inside the ATM.
  • Make sure that no one is looking over your shoulder to ascertain your PIN.
  • When finished, remember to take your card, receipt and cash.
  • Don't count your money while walking out of the ATM or walking down the street. Wait until you reach a safe area to do so.
