How do you become a Brookline Police Officer?
The Recruitment Mission

How to become a Brookline Police Officer
Candidates must pass a written examination administered by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Human resources Division.
Candidates Must:
- Be a U.S. citizen
- Be at least 19 years of age
- Possess a High School Diploma or have a G.E.D. certificate
- Possess a valid Massachusetts motor vehicle operator’s license
- Pass character background investigation, medical and psychological exams and physical agility test
Recruit Training: Extensive classroom and field training in:
- Constitutional Law
- Criminal Law
- Patrol Procedures
- Crisis Intervention/Physical Training
- First responders (medical)
- Defensive Driving
- Firearms
